In 2020, Matt took on a position with the CRA as a corporate services officer. The 2020 University of Ottawa grad was looking for a change of industry and found himself with Peak Sales Recruiting. Matt quickly learned how to become a successful recruiter in a fast paced industry. He became a top performer and consistently led his business division in revenue and was awarded for his hard work and determination. He was promoted to a Client Manager position and showcased the ability to work with many great clients. He has an ability to understand hiring issues within organizations and can adapt to ever changing market conditions. Bringing a hire to a close is Matts specialty, as he led Peak Sales Recruiting in offers, and in hires for the 2022 calendar year.
Being a successful recruiter and client manager, Matt Brown decided to team up with his Peak co-worker Zach to create Benchmark Talent. Both top talents in the world of recruitment are looking to set a new standard in team building. Being part of a larger recruiting firm, there was a lack of focus on individual clients. Whereas with Benchmark Talent, the recruiters are focused on providing a tailored 1 on 1 service. At Benchmark Talent, Matt is looking forward to building long term relationships with clients across multiple industries.
Born and raised in Ottawa, Zach has significant experience in both recruiting and sales. After graduating from the University of Ottawa in 2019, Zach began working for the Ottawa BlackJacks of the Canadian Elite Basketball League, where he was in charge of both internal recruiting and corporate partnerships. He demonstrated instant success, being named CEBL salesperson and recruiter of the month in June 2020. In early 2021, Zach moved to the Executive Recruiting world full time with Peak Sales Recruiting. Once again, he demonstrated instant success, quickly being promoted to a leadership role as a Client Manager. In this role he routinely placed qualified leaders across various industries, including fintech, advanced materials, SAAS, construction and sports.
In early 2023, Zach, along with another former Peak employee Matt, realized that there was a better way for organizations to recruit top level talent and left to form Benchmark Talent.
